Here's another great way to persuade your boss to use social media.

Find out which competitors are using it well.

Compile a list of things like their Google ranking from social media sites, blog comments, number of Twitter followers, Facebook fan pages, great product reviews and other kudos for one competitor. Show it to the boss and tell him or her that you're company is at a disadvantage.

That should drive home the message.
